Scam email

Someone is impersonating me! Please only contact me through my websites

I received the disturbing news this week that a scammer is sending out emails using my name and identity, trying to solicit marketing work for themselves.

If you receive a fraudulent email from “nicola.authorwebmarketing@gmail.com” (that’s not my email) or any other cold-approach email that looks suspiciously AI-generated, please ignore it. If you do wish to contact me, please do so via my contact form. This way you will definitely be emailing with me and not an imposter.

Here’s what a writer friend received from someone pretending to be me:

This is particularly disheartening, because I am trying to build a legitimate freelance marketing business, helping authors and small business owners. And now a scammer seems intent on tanking my reputation.

From now on, I’d prefer it if dastardly wrong’uns stealing identities remained merely a plot point in my psychological thriller Dead Ringer.
