Now what if the spectre of a stalker-killer loomed over the Eras tour? That’s the premise of The Spotlight, which follows pop princess Silver as she embarks on a round-the-world-tour.
2. You like twists and turns and characters that surprise you
The Spotlight is probably my twistiest thriller yet, and I had a lot of fun building a cast of characters that would continually surprise readers.
There’s popstar Silver, of course. But there’s also her former bandmate, Kirby, unaffectionately known as Killer Kirby, because internet conspiracy theorists believe she murdered someone.
There’s also Jones, a handsome, control-freak music producer Svengali. He’s married to Silver, and has a troubled past of his own.

3. You believe every book should include a dog
Meet Bandit, the lurcher-ish mongrel who is the heart of The Spotlight. He’s adorable and, spoiler alert, he does not die in the end (phew!).
